2007 Monday Night Learn-To-Race Series - Users Guide:

Who is this designed for ?

These events are for riders with little or no race experience, including novices, those returning to racing after a break and slow old farts. Coaches and experienced riders will be on hand to conduct learn to race clinics, encouraging fun, confidence and skills training. Clinics cover (but are not limited to): cornering, sprinting, pack handling skills, echelons, race tactics, bumping wheels, energy conservation, etc. We have posted some Learn-To-Race related articles *HERE*

Although a little fitness will help, most nights will feature separate starts for riders of differing abilities and a separate field for women. Faster riders (all categories) should ride the Tuesday night critriums instead.

What kind of bike do I need?

Any road bike with drop bars in good working order.

What do I need besides a bike ?

For the Monday Night Learn-to-Race events, you are required to be a member of an OCA affiliated club or hold a UCI/CCA Racing License or an OCA Citizen Permit. If you aren't a member of a club you can join the Midweek Cycling Club or another OCA affiliated club. Citizen Permits will be available for purchase at the events.

What are the fees ?

Monday night events are $5 for Midweek CC members and $9 for non-members.

This year we are introducing a Season's Pass: Midweek members pay $60 and non-members pay $99.

When and where is it ?

The events run every Monday from April 16 until August 27, with the exception of statuatory holidays. Consult the calendar for start times and more info.

The circuit is on Buckhorn Gate and Tahoe Blvd. in the vicinity of Eglinton and Dixie. More specifically, it is just southeast of the intersection at Eastgate Pkwy and Eglinton Ave. See map below.
